A pre-események azok az alkalmak, amelyekkel előkészítjük a nagy programot a 48 órás ABATHON-t, és Abaújban arra jutottunk, hogy ennek célja egyrészt a módszer bemutatása, másrészt a rendezvény felépítésének megmutatása, harmadrészt pedig újabb és újabb emberek elérése, és elkötelezése az ABATHON mellett. Hisz ők lesznek az ügyeket hozók, a csoportokat alakítók, akik így a teljes programot meghatározzák. Ezért úgy gondoltuk, hogy ezek az események már a nevükben is érdekesek, hívogatóak, érdeklődést felkeltőek kell legyenek.
Az első pre-esemény, a Palacsintás Péntek a Pitvarosban Telkibányán került megrendezésre július 9-én. Megszólítottuk a műhelyen résztvevőket, akiktől kértük, hogy hívjanak még magukkal társakat. E mellett a FÉSZAK Kör a kapcsolati hálójukon keresztül személyesen hívott a térség északi részén élők közül olyanokat, akik a közösségben tenni akarnak, akikről tudják, hogy vannak ötleteik a változásra, a változtatásra.
Mivel többen voltak, akik először csatlakoztak az ABATHON csapatához, így bemutatkozással kezdtük. Ezt követően bemutattuk azt a két szervezetet, akik szervezésében, együttműködésében az ABATHON megvalósul. A „Fogadó” Észak-Abaúji Közösségfejlesztők Köre Egyesület (FÉSZAK) beszélt arról, hogy mint helyi szervezet azzal a céllal vágott bele ebbe a projektbe, hogy társakat gyűjtsön ahhoz, hogy ne kívülről várják a megoldásokat, hanem az itt élők alakítsák a jövőt. Úgy érzi, hogy ezzel a programmal ki tudnak lépni Észak-Abaújból és meg tudják újítani az Egyesületüket. A Közösségfejlesztők Egyesülete (KÖFE), mint országos szakmai szervezet, aki azért dolgozik, hogy megmutassa az embereknek, hogy lehet közösségi módon működtetni intézményeket, szervezeteket és egész településeket. Nem csupán megmutatni, hanem közösségi tanulási folyamatban megtanítani is szeretné az embereket a közösségi alapú működtetésre. Ahhoz, hogy az emberek szóba álljanak egymással, összeüljenek közösen gondolkodni a településükről, a térségükről újabb és újabb eszközökre, módszerekre van szükség. A szociális hackathonban ezt az új lehetőséget látta meg a KÖFE és ennek a közösségfejlesztői folyamat módszerévé tételéhez, a kipróbálásához hív partnereket a térségben nyitott, változást akaró emberekből. Hisz ez a módszer nincs kész – sőt minden térségnek mindig meg kell teremtenie, ki kell találnia a saját hackathonját – és az ABATHON-nal egy olyan mintát tudunk megmutatni, ami bátorságot ad a közösségeknek ezen módszer használatára.
A módszerről három fontos szempontból beszéltünk:
- Az eredetmítosz: amelyben kitértünk az IT szektorban használt hackathonra, majd a szociális szolgáltatások tervezésére Észtországban használt szociális hackathonra.
- A résztvevők között ott volt Onda Gergő is, aki részt vett a székelyföldi partnereinknél másfél hónapja lebonyolított Vidékfejlesztési Maratonon, így ő beszélt az ottani, személyes tapasztalatairól.
- Az ABATHON 48 órájának a bemutatása a köszöntéstől egészen a díjátadásig.
A keretek, az esemény bemutatását követően a kérdésekre, a szerveződő csoportokra és ügyekre esett a további fókusz. Az elmondottak alapján három csoport, három ügy körvonalai rajzolódtak ki, akiket tovább kell biztatnunk és támogatnunk abban, hogy az augusztusi főeseményen is ott legyenek.
Nagyon jó volt látni, hogy bár hivatalosan befejeztük a pre-eseményt, a Pitvaros helyiségét elhagytuk, de a résztvevők az udvaron és az utcán kisebb csoportokba verődve folytatták a beszélgetést.

Pre-events are the occasions to prepare the main event, the 48-hour ABATHON, and in Abaúj we have decided that the purpose of this is to show the method, to show how the event is structured and to reach more and more people and get them involved in ABATHON. They will be the ones who make the cases, the ones who form the groups, and who will thus determine the overall programme. Therefore, we thought that these events should be interesting, inviting and interesting in name alone.
The first pre-event, Pancake Friday in Pitvaros, took place in Telkibánya. We invited the participants of the workshop to invite others to join us. In addition to this, through their network of contacts, the FÉSZAK personally invited people from the northern part of the region who want to take action in the community, who they know have ideas for change and change-making.
As many of them were joining the ABATHON team for the first time, we started with introductions. We then introduced the two organisations that are organising and collaborating to make ABATHON happen. The “Host” Association of Community Developers of North Abauj (FÉSZAK) spoke about how, as a local organisation, it had started this project with the aim of gathering partners to ensure that solutions are not expected from outside, but that the people living here shape the future. They feel that with this programme they can step out of North Abauj and renew their association. The Hungarian Association for Community Development (HACD/KÖFE) as a national professional organization that works to show people how to run institutions, organizations and whole communities in a community way. Not only to show, but also to teach people how to run a community-based business through community learning. To get people talking to each other, to get them to come together to think about their community and their region, new tools and methods are needed. KÖFE has seen this new opportunity in the social hackathon and is calling for partners from people open to change in the region to try it out as a method of community development. It is not a ready-made method – in fact, each region always has to create and invent its own hackathon – and with ABATHON we can show a model that gives communities the courage to use this method.
We talked about the method from three important perspectives:
– The myth of origin: in which we covered the hackathon used in the IT sector, and then the social hackathon used to design social services in Estonia.
– Gergő Onda, who participated in the Rural Development Marathon that took place in Szeklerland a month and a half ago, was among the participants, so he spoke about his personal experience there.
– A presentation of the 48 hours of ABATHON from the welcome to the award ceremony.
After the presentation of the framework and the event, the focus turned to the questions and the groups and causes being organised. From what was said, the outlines of three groups and three causes emerged, and we need to continue to encourage and support them to be there for the main event in August.
It was very good to see that although we had officially finished the pre-event and left the Pitvaros premises, participants continued the conversation in small groups in the courtyard and on the street.

A második előkészítő eseményünket a Gönci járás középső részén, Boldogkőváralján tartottuk július 14-én.
A találkozó kezdetén tettünk egy személyes bemutatkozó kört, majd részletesebben bemutattuk a két szervezetet, a „Fogadó” Észak-Abaúji Közösségfejlesztők Köre Egyesületet és a Közösségfejlesztők Egyesületét, amelyek a térségben az ABATHON-t szervezik, a projektet megvalósítják. Ezt követően beszéltünk a szociális hackathon-ról, mint módszerről. Bemutattuk, hogy hogyan valósult meg Észtországban, és Székelyföldön. Ezt követően rátértünk az augusztusi Telkibányán szerveződő rendezvényre, az ABATHON-ra. A forgatókönyv mellett kitértünk a rendezvénynek a közösség megszólítására és bevonására tett jelentőségére is.
Ezután került sor a beszélgetésre, melynek fókuszában nem az ötletek, az ügyek voltak, hanem a helyi emberek megszólítása, bevonása. Miért van az, hogy egy idő után a kezdeményezők mellől elfogynak az emberek? Hogyan lehet az embereket hosszú távra elkötelezni, együtt tartani a csoportot? Melyek azok a tényezők, amelyek hosszú távon befolyásolják a közösségi munkát? A végén beléptünk a közösségfejlesztői szerepünkbe, a bátorítás, a lelkesítés került fókuszba.

Our second pre-event was held in Boldogkőváralja, in the central part of the Gönci district, on 14 July.
At the beginning of the meeting we did a personal introduction round, and then we introduced in more detail the two organisations, the “Host” North Abauji Community Developers Association and the Hungarian Association for Community Development, which organise ABATHON in the area and implement the project. We then talked about the social hackathon as a method. We presented how it was implemented in Estonia and in Szeklerland. Then we turned to the event that will be organised in Telkibanya in August, ABATHON. In addition to the scenario, we also covered the importance of the event in reaching out and engaging the community.
Then we had the discussion, which focused not on ideas and issues, but on how to reach out and involve local people. Why is it that after a while the initiators run out of people? How can you keep people engaged for the long term, keep the group together? What are the factors that influence community work in the long term? At the end, we stepped into our role as community developers, focusing on encouragement and inspiration.

A harmadik pre-eseményünk az „ABATHONI Lángosparti Aranyosban” volt július 21-én. A forgatókönyve az előző két alkalomhoz hasonlóan alakult:
- tettünk egy személyes bemutatkozó kört, ki honnan érkezett, miért jött el
- majd bemutattuk az ABATHON eseményt, kitértünk az eredetére arra, hogy hol találkoztunk mi vele, miért gondoltuk azt, hogy egy fontos és jó módszer lehet számunkra is a közösségfejlesztői folyamatokban
- beszéltünk a projektről, és részletesen bemutattuk a két szervezetet, a „Fogadó” Észak-Abaúji Közösségfejlesztők Köre Egyesületet, és a Közösségfejlesztők Egyesületét. Kitértünk arra is, hogy nekünk miért fontos ez az esemény, ez a módszer.
Ezt követően felszolgálásra kerültek a lángosok, és így az evés közbeni beszélgetéssel oldottuk a hangulatot. Zárásképpen körbementünk és az eddigi ötleteket vettük számba, hogy ki milyen témára, ügyre gondolt, amelyet szeretne behozni az ABATHON-ra. Nagyon színes a paletta: fiatalok – idősek együttélése, egymás segítése; hol, mi érhető el helyi termék, szolgáltatás nemcsak a turisták számára, hanem a helyieknek is egy fontos adatbázis összeállítása; munkalehetőség, jövedelem szerzési lehetőség a fogyatékkal rendelkező emberek számára; hogyan lehet zölddé tenni, a környezettel együttműködővé az életünket. Látva ezt a sokféle témát, a lelkes embereket mi szervezők is megerősödtünk abban, hogy amit cselekszünk az jó irány.

Our third pre-event was the “ABATHONI Lángos-party in Aranyos” on 21 July. The scenario was similar to the previous two occasions:
– we did a personal introduction round, who came from where, why they came
– and then we introduced the ABATHON event, explained its origins, where we met it, why we thought it could be an important and good method for us in community development processes
– we talked about the project and gave a detailed introduction to the two organisations, the “Host” North Abaui Community Developers Association and the Hungarian Association for Community Development. We also explained why this event and this method is important for us.
Afterwards, the scones were served and we relaxed the atmosphere by talking while eating. In closing, we went around the table and took stock of the ideas that had been put forward so far, and what topics and issues everyone had thought of that they would like to bring to ABATHON. There was a very colourful palette: young people – old people living together, helping each other; where and what local products and services are available, not only for tourists but also for locals; compiling an important database; job opportunities, income-earning opportunities for people with disabilities; how to make our lives green, cooperative with the environment. Seeing all these diverse topics and enthusiastic people, we organisers were also confirmed that what we are doing is the right direction.
