Abathon – 2021. Telkibányán

2021. augusztus 13-15. között a magyar közösségfejlesztés történetében (is) különleges esemény zajlott az abaúj-zempléni Telkibányán. A Közösségfejlesztők Egyesülete (KÖFE) konzorciumi vezetésében elindult Erasmus+ pályázat főeseménye, az Abathon névre keresztelt fejlesztéstervezési módszer, mint a hazai adaptáció prototípusa zajlott le. A módszer – és a mögötte lévő szemlélet – Észtországból adaptáltatott, s nemcsak hazai, hanem székelyföldi bevezetésre egyaránt. A székelyföldi esemény már május végén lezajlott, s az ottani tapasztaltokkal gazdagodva fogott hozzá a szervezéshez a „Fogadó”, Észak-Abaúji Közösségfejlesztők Köre Egyesület (FÉSZAK-KÖR) – mint helyi megvalósító.

A kiindulási pontként használatos hackathonozás, az IT szféra és a startup kultúra világához kötődik, s az innovatív gondolkodású és cselekvési potenciálú észteknél, természetes módon meghonosodott. Ám ők nem álltak meg itt, és a felhasználási területet kiterjesztették a Tallinn központú kisállam elmaradottabb, délvidéki területeire is. Ott a lakosság szociális igényeinek közösségi, alulról jövő fejlesztéstervezésében használták már többedszer sikerrel. A magyar és székelyföldi kísérleti adaptáció iránya, a közösségfejlesztés alapú vidékfejlesztés szolgálatában történő használhatóság kipróbálása volt.

Dióhéjban a lényeg egy 48 órán át tartó, kreatív, de szabályozott cselekményívre felépített közösségi tervezés, melyben csapatmunka zajlik. A Gönci járás lakosaiból álló 5-7 fős csapatokat hívtunk meg az Abathonra, mely egy komoly játék, s melynek során fejlesztéstervezési helyzetbe juttatunk olyanokat, akik szakmájuk, körülményeik alapján nem részesei amúgy ilyesfélének. Tesszük persze ezt azért, mert a közösségfejlesztői értékrend alapján úgy véljük, minden közösségben azoknak kellene elindítania a társadalomfejlesztési cselekményeket, akikre vonatkoznak ezek! A megszólítható és eléggé motivált csapatok ötleteikhez támogató mentorokat kapnak, akikkel az ötletek kidolgozása során felkészülnek a zsűri előtti bemutatásra. 11 ötlet mentén alakult 7 közösen töprengő csapat az Abathon első nap estéjére, amely nagy örömmel töltött el mindannyiunkat!

Mindez persze sokkal izgalmasabb, dinamikával és örömteli lázzal fűtött légkörben zajlott! A csapatok tagjain kívül a siker legfőbb összetevői, a már említett mentorok voltak, akik a KÖFE javát alkotó és a FÉSZAK-KÖR-höz is kötődő elismert szakemberek voltak. A szakmai zsűri tagjai, Abaúj, Telkibánya és B.-A.-Z. megye változatos tevékenységű és elismert, de mindenképp az innovációk világával kapcsoltban lévő szakemberei voltak.

A kihívásokkal teli, kreativitásra serkentő közösségi környezettérben, minden egyéb szükségesről is gondoskodtak a szervezők: az emblematikus helyszín, a lassan negyedik éve zárva tartó iskola épülete amellett, hogy tökéletesen az eseményre szabott terekkel bírt, még konkrét projektötletet is életre hívott (ti. hogyan hasznosítható a magára hagyott épület?); a profi munkát végző FÉSZAK-KÖR-ös önkéntes csapat pedig, ujjongóan hangos főhajtást érdemel! Ugyanígy nagy köszönet jár a KÖFE-s média csapatnak is, akik nélkül láthatatlanok lennénk a virtuális térben!

Az esemény szervezői fontosnak tartották azt, hogy az ötletgazda helyi csapatok (Hidasnémeti, Gönc, Abaújkér, Boldogkőváralja, Abaújszántó, Telkibánya) mellett, külső, de Abaúj javáért tenni akaró csapat is jelen legyen az Abathonon. E csapat – a Draken Egyesület csapata -, nemcsak részt vett, de projektötletével a zsűri tetszését leginkább elnyerő, első helyezett csapat volt!

A szervezők minden produkciót díjaztak, s az első három helyezettet kimondottan fejlesztési ötleteik szárba szökkenését támogató díjazással, pl.: egy hétvégi vakációzás fejlesztő szakember és wellness társaságában. Emellett azonban MINDEN produkciót utánkövetéssel és a szakmai támogatásra nyitottság esetén a FÉSZAK-KÖR tevékenységi körével összehangzó módon, közösségfejlesztői műhelymunkába bevonással kívánjuk támogatni. Ez az eleve meglévő szándék nagyon szépen kiegészült a mentorok részéről tett felajánlásokkal is: Koppánymonostorba 4 napos szakmai műhelyre kapott meghívást a telkibányai csapat, s szintén onnan 3×3 napos szakmai mentorálásra való felajánlást a gönciek ifjúsági klub-újratöltve ötlete, de a hidasnémeti csapat is örülhetett annak az ajándék útnak, amely a hortobágyi madárkórházba szólt, Árvácska Állatvédő Állomásuk beindításának segítésére.

A rendezvény nemzetközivé vált azzal, hogy meglátogatta Észtország magyarországi nagykövete, valamint egy a módszert adaptáló szervezetben dolgozó észt házaspár is, így általuk nagyszerűen hitelesítve lett a sikeres magyar hackathon adaptáció. Csakúgy boldog szívvel örültünk székelyföldi közösségfejlesztő barátainknak, akik érdeklődő odaadással jöttek közénk el!

E közösségi erőtérben zajló eseményt, mint kiemelkedően fontosat tartják nyilván a hazai közösségfejlesztők is!

Abathon – 2021. in Telkibánya

On the weekend of 13-15 August 2021, a unique event in the history of Hungarian community development took place in Telkibánya, Abaúj-zemplén. The main event of the Erasmus+ project launched under the consortium leadership of the Hungarian Association for Community Development (KÖFE), the development planning method Abathon, took place as a prototype of the national adaptation. The method – and the approach behind it – has been adapted from Estonia, not only for domestic use, but also for implementation in Szeklerland. The event in Szeklerland took place already at the end of May, and the “Host”, the Association of Community Developers of North Abauj (FÉSZAK-KÖR), as the local implementer, started the organisation, enriched by the experience gained there.

Hackathoning, which is used as a starting point, is linked to the world of IT and start-up culture, and has naturally taken root in the innovative thinking and action potential of Estonians. But they didn’t stop there, and extended the application to the more backward, southern areas of the small state centred in Tallinn. There, it has been used successfully on several occasions in community-based, grassroots development planning for the social needs of the population. The direction of the pilot adaptation in Hungary and Szeklerland was to test its usability in the service of community development based rural development.

In a nutshell, the essence is a 48-hour community planning process based on a creative but controlled plot-arch, in which teamwork takes place. Teams of 5-7 people from the Gönci district were invited to participate in Abathon, a serious game that puts people in a development planning situation who, because of their profession or circumstances, would not otherwise be involved. We do this, of course, because we believe, based on the values of community development, that in every community, those who are affected by social development should initiate the social development actions! Teams that are approachable and motivated enough will have supportive mentors for their ideas, with whom they will work on developing their ideas in preparation for presentation to the judges. 11 ideas formed the basis of 7 teams thinking together on the evening of the first day of Abathon, which was a great joy for all of us!

All this, of course, took place in a much more exciting atmosphere, full of dynamism and joyful fever! Apart from the members of the teams, the main ingredients for success were the mentors mentiod above, who were made up of renowned professionals who are the beneficiaries of the KÖFE and who are also associated with the FÉSZAK-KÖR. The members of the professional jury were professionals from Abaúj, Telkibánya and B.-A.-Z. County, with diverse activities and respected but definitely connected to the world of innovation.

In a challenging and creative community environment, the organisers also provided everything else needed: the emblematic venue, the school building, which has been closed for almost four years, not only had spaces perfectly adapted to the event, but also gave life to a concrete project idea (i.e. how to use an abandoned building); and the professional work of the team of volunteers from the FÉSZAK-KÖR deserves a loud and enthusiastic cheer! Also a big thank you to the KÖFE media team, without whom we would be invisible in the virtual space!

The organisers of the event considered it important that, in addition to the local teams who were the idea hosts (Hidasnémeti, Gönc, Abaújkér, Boldogkőváralja, Abaújszántó, Telkibánya), there were also teams from outside who wanted to do something for Abaúj. This team – the team of the Draken Association – not only participated, but was also the team that won first place with its project idea, which was the most appreciated by the jury!

The organisers awarded prizes for all the productions, and the top three winners were rewarded with prizes specifically designed to help their development ideas take off, such as a weekend holiday with a development specialist and a spa. In addition, however, we intend to support ALL productions with follow-up and, if they are open to professional support, with the involvement in community development workshops in a way that is in line with the activities of the SECTOR-KROP. This intention has been very nicely complemented by the pledges made by the mentors: The team from Telkibánya was invited to a 4-day workshop in Koppánymonostor, and also from there the idea of the Göncie Youth Club was offered a 3×3-day mentoring session, but the team from Hidasnémet was also pleased with the gift trip to the bird hospital in Hortobágy to help start up their Orvácska Animal Shelter.

The event was internationalised by a visit from the Estonian Ambassador to Hungary and our 2 Estonian colleagues working in the organisation adapting the method, giving great credibility to the successful Hungarian hackathon adaptation. We were just as happy to welcome our community development friends from Szeklerland, who came to visit us with interested devotion!

This community powerhouse event is also considered as a very important one by the local community development experts!
